Ok, I know: people are sick and tired of the COVID Pandemic.
I get it. I am too. We want are lives back. Dream about things being normal. Doing things we used to do. I hear you.
But folks, this thing is not over.
The Delta Variant of COVID is much more contagious than earlier variants and is now the dominant form in the United States and much of the world. Case numbers are quickly rising so that almost the entire country is now rated by the CDC as having substantial or high rates of transmission. We are seeing increased numbers of younger people getting severe COVID cases that are sending them to the hospital.
Thing is: there have been too many people refusing to get vaccinated and not wearing masks when they should. Earlier in the summer, too much of the population started acting like the Pandemic was over. They stopped wearing masks and quit social distancing. This allowed the virus to spread faster. The more a virus spreads, the more mutations occur. These mutations lead to new variants. Add in the fact that many people had not been vaccinated, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Well, the disaster is here.
So, everyone needs to buckle down and do their part in battling COVID-19. Practice social distancing and wear masks when inside public places or in large crowds. And unless your doctor has legitimate medical reasons not to, get vaccinated! If everyone would do their part, we could get through this much faster, and that would help people get back to more normal lives quicker and safer. But more importantly, it would save lives.
So please do your part.
Practice social distancing!
Wear masks inside public places and in large crowds!
And unless your doctor has legitimate medical reasons not to, get vaccinated!

Continue Practicing Social Distancing And Wearing Masks!
6-9-20
Ok, I realize a lot is going on these days, and people are tired of being cooped up at home so much. Plus there is the George Floyd situation and people’s legitimate desire to be heard.
But folks, we aren’t even halfway through this pandemic. It will likely be some time next year before an effective vaccine is widely available for everyone.
So it is vitally important that people don’t get too lax!
Practice social distancing whenever possible. And when you can’t, wear a mask! It’s not just for your own protection, but to minimize the chances of you spreading the infection to other people, who may be at high risk. Frankly, people, who when in public are ignoring social distancing and aren’t wearing masks, are being disgracefully selfish and are potentially endangering the lives of innocent people!
So do the right thing…
PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING WHENEVER POSSIBLE AND WEAR MASKS WHEN YOU CAN’T!
WHEN IN DOUBT, WEAR A MASK!
Like it or not, we are all in this together!
Members Of The Far Right Are Trying To Get Dr Fauci Fired
4-13-20
Members of the far right are calling for Dr Fauci to be fired, and Donald Trump even tweeted about them. Such an idea is dangerously short sighted. Battling a pandemic, this is no time for extremist partisan politics.
Dr Fauci is an expert in the field of infectious disease and his input as well as honesty are desperately needed in the Trump Administration as well as by the American people.
During this pandemic, Trump’s behavior has been erratic with him telling exaggerated and false information far too often. He has continued going after individuals (including reporters, governors, and more) with immature and outrageously vicious partisan attacks.
Dr Fauci’s wisdom, leadership, and forthright honesty are desperately needed during this time of crisis.
Speak up and make your voices heard that Dr Fauci must stay in his position!
Use social media and contact your elected officials demanding Dr Fauci be allowed to continue his life saving work!
Lives are stake, perhaps even your own.
Material Used Vitally Important For Cloth Masks! Multi-layered Quilting Fabric Better Than Most
4-8-20
Cloth masks are all the rage!
And for good reason! When outside the home, it’s important to wear a face mask when adequate social distancing isn’t possible. Like when going to the grocery store, drugstore, gas station, to pick up take out food, and so on.
Now, the really good N95 masks and surgical masks are rightfully being reserved for medical personnel and first responders since there is such a severe shortage.
This is where cloth masks come in.
But it’s very important to remember that not all cloth masks are equal. Some are more effective than others. A few are downright abysmal.
I have included a New York Times article link that goes into more detail on the effectiveness of various materials. Input from several scientists were included in the piece.
An interesting note is that multi-layered quilting fabric ranked better than most!
I strongly recommend reading the article to help you make a more informed decision on what kind of mask works better for you!
Hang in there and stay safe!

State Governors Who Don’t Institute Stay At Home Orders Are Costing Lives! Their Narrow-mindedness Is Staggering!
Here are some article links which explore the situation in more detail.

All States Must Institute Stay At Home Orders Immediately! Anything Less Is Grossly Irresponsible!
4-4-20
It’s way past time for all states to institute stay at home orders!
Period.
Anything less is grossly irresponsible and will cost lives!
COVID 19 is spreading rapidly. Evidence is revealing that a significant number of infected people show no symptoms but can still spread the virus. Considering this and the fact that the United States is still way behind in testing, it is quite clear that the COVID 19 virus is more widespread than people realize.
Local, state, and federal levels of the US government need to become better organized, improve coordination, and work together more effectively. And this includes the remaining governors wising up and instituting stay at home orders.
They can’t afford to wait for the White House to tell them because Donald Trump is frankly not rising to the occasion of leadership during this crisis. His behavior and actions have been erratic, confusing, and disorganized. He has frequently exaggerated, lied, and publicly undermined other government officials. Even though experts (including the US Intelligence Community) warned of the oncoming pandemic, Trump clearly downplayed the problem early on, which wasted valuable time and allowed the virus to gain a stronger foothold in the US more quickly. This has led to a steeper infection curve which now threatens to overwhelm health care systems in hotspot areas.
All state governors must enact stay at home orders immediately, and all levels of government need to work together more effectively, listening to the experts, so that we can properly deal with this outbreak.
Lives are at stake.
All Levels Of The US Government Must Work Together More Effectively During The COVID 19 Outbreak
4-3-20
The United States’ response to the COVID 19 outbreak has been plagued with confusion, disorganization, chaos, false information, and mistakes.
The Trump Administration dangerously downplayed the problem early on even though medical experts, scientists, and the US Intelligence Community warned of the oncoming disaster. Trump acted like things were fine when they clearly weren’t. This wasted too much valuable time. As a result, the infection curve is much steeper than it could have been. Trump has exaggerated and lied too frequently, even to the point where infectious disease expert Dr Fauci would have to correct him during the same press conference.
There has been way too much confusion with one government official saying one thing and Trump saying something very different. Leaves everyone from the average citizen to state governors uncertain about who to believe and what will happen. This is an extremely dangerous state of affairs during a pandemic.
While many governors are trying to be proactive in dealing with this crisis, states are responding in a patchwork of ways and are too often left scrambling trying desperately to obtain life saving equipment, often having to compete against each other over limited and increasingly expensive resources. Some unscrupulous businesses are price gouging in order to make more money (which is sickening considering lives are at stake).
During this emergency, partisan politics need to be put aside. The federal government needs to be more involved and better organized. Governments at the local, state, and federal levels should work together more effectively in getting resources where they need to be, and price gouging must be controlled.
There has got to be better, more effective organization than has occurred thus far!
Frankly, a big part of this includes Donald Trump needing to improve his behavior and/or step back and let other officials handle the crisis. The various levels of government have got to get better organized and more on the same page, which includes Trump listening to the experts and stopping his exaggerations, lies, and public undermining of other government officials.
Many lives are stake.
Time to step up, work together, and get things done.
Not doing so will mean people dying who could have been saved otherwise.
Educate Yourself But Also Relax And Keep Your Chin Up! We Will Get Through This!
3-27-20
Hey there everybody!
I know times are stressful with COVID 19 and people being home so much with social distancing and all.
Strange times indeed. Kind of feels like an episode from the Twilight Zone.
Remember to keep up to date with what is going on with COVID 19 using multiple, reputable, varied sources but don’t get obsessed with worry either. Won’t do any good. Educate yourself on what you need to do and try to relax.
Now, for some with families, significant others, and roommates, there will be too much togetherness. People getting on each other’s nerves! For we all need some me time now and then.
For others like me, being alone and feeling lonely could get worse.
Whatever your situation, be strong, hang in there, and don’t give up! We will get through this.
Try to relax and do some things you enjoy at home. Read a good book, watch some movies and TV shows, play games (board or video), do a puzzle. Get creative. Write in a journal or create a story. Draw or paint. Get online and expand your mind. Many museums have parts of their collections available for viewing online. Research something out of pure curiosity, like learning about Amelia Earhart or checking out NASA images from its space probes and rovers. Use technology to keep in touch and socialize from a distance. Texting, phone calls, video chats, social media messaging, and so on are all great options for keeping in touch while staying physically isolated from each other.
Hang in there! Keep your chin up!
We will get through this!

While COVID 19 Is Scary, Remember That We Will Get Through This!
Yes, with the COVID 19 situation, times are scary. Almost seems like some pandemic disaster movie except this is real life.
But don’t panic!
Don’t! Won’t do any good. Keep calm and educate yourself on what to do. Practice social distancing, wash your hands more frequently (certainly before touching your face), cough or sneeze into your arm or shoulder, and check out what local, state, and federal authorities are saying. Health departments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO) are also resources you can explore. If you think you might have COVID 19 (or been exposed to it), call your doctor, ER, etc first before going in so that they can take appropriate measures to protect everyone (including themselves).
Remember that lots of things can cause coughs and most people who catch COVID 19 recover. If you are in a high risk category, educate yourself on extra precautions you should do.
Keep your chin up.
When you go to the grocery store, get what you need for an appropriate amount of time, but don’t overdo it hoarding things because we all need to eat, clean, and have toilet paper. I like having toilet paper lol. Be considerate of others.
Don’t let yourself get too stressed out, anxious, or depressed. Mental health is also important.
You can catch up on reading good books as well as watching movies and shows via Netflix and Amazon Prime. Play games (board or video games). Do puzzles.
People who are not under an actual quarantine, can get outside. Many people are able to walk around neighborhoods or parks while practicing social distancing.
You can communicate with others via phone, email, text, video chat, and so on. And while it’s natural to talk about COVID 19, discuss other things too! Have some laughs!
Keep your chin up.
It’s not the end of the world!
We will get through this!
