Overwhelming Evidence Shows This Election Was Free And Fair

11-11-20
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the presidential election. That is very clear, yet Donald Trump has thus far refused to concede and is making baseless, destructive accusations of fraud.
All states are reporting that no significant irregularities occurred this election. International observers monitored the election as well and are also saying that no widespread irregularities happened. As a matter of fact, an international observer report has criticized Trump for making baseless claims against the election.
The United States is deeply divided to a scary, unhealthy degree with people, organizations, and political parties not trusting each other and often even hating one another. It’s hurting our nation. Donald Trump has exacerbated these divisions throughout his time in politics and the presidency.
It’s no surprise that Trump is making unfounded claims of fraud despite having no evidence for it. He has been sending clear signals for months that he would act like this if he lost. Thing is, Trump’s childish behavior making baseless attacks upon the election is hurting our democracy. Even when Trump is clearly lying, millions of Americans still choose to believe him. This means that even though there is overwhelming evidence that the election was fair, millions of Americans think the contrary.
This is dangerous and is really hurting our nation.
Elections and the peaceful transfer of power is part of the very foundation of the United States. It’s a major factor in making this nation great. But Donald Trump (along with the millions of Americans going along with his dangerous behavior) is undermining the entire process with false claims of fraud and in doing this is undermining the United States itself.
People need to open their minds.
Joe Biden won in a free, fair election, and Donald Trump lost. Time for people to accept this and move forward.
To be blunt, stop blindly following Donald Trump. Don’t blindly follow anyone. Look at the facts using varied, reliable, independent sources. Don’t use sites that only tell you what you want to hear.
There is no evidence of widespread irregularities. None.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the election fairly.
Time for people to accept that and move forward.
We need to start working together so that we can begin the process of healing this nation.

Trump Is Grossly Unqualified And Incompetent As President

10-10-20
Let’s get one thing out of the way. I’m an Independent politically and don’t blindly follow anyone or anything. I look at the evidence and make the best decisions I can. With that said, I must tell you that we all need to unite behind Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
I realize this sounds like some political ad, but it’s not.
The thing is: we cannot afford 4 more years of Donald Trump. The country really can’t. We must vote him out of office, and the only way to do that is to unite behind Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because the next president will be Trump or Biden. That’s a fact. Third party presidential candidates have zero chance of winning this election. Zero. Worse is that supporting one splits the anti-Trump vote and thus helps Donald Trump. As a matter of fact, people voting for third party candidates in 2016 is a significant part of how Trump got in office.
We all know how horrendously bad a president Donald Trump is. His outrageous hurtful rhetoric, colossal scale of lying, authoritarian tendencies, xenophobic behavior, and gross mishandling of the COVID pandemic are well known. Trump seems to go out of his way to avoid upsetting Russia and has not held the adversarial nation accountable for its ongoing cyber attacks on the United States. He has also not adequately addressed the serious accusations of Russia paying bounties for killing US and Coalition soldiers in the Middle East. On top of that, he is using the courts to try to take away Obamacare in the middle of this pandemic without having any replacement whatsoever. If he succeeds, millions of Americans with pre-existing medical conditions could be at risk of losing their health insurance during the COVID 19 crisis. Trump is also engaged in voter suppression with his baseless, unfounded attacks on mail in voting and the US Postal Service. He is clearly trying to hinder the ability of people (whom he fears will vote against him) to vote. This sort of behavior goes against the foundation of our country and democracy itself.
Also consider this: the September 26 White House event in the Rose Garden exemplifies how horribly the Trump Administration has been handling the COVID pandemic. People sat shoulder to shoulder and most wore no masks. Scientists are calling this a super-spreader event due to the number of people who have tested positive and the number of additional people potentially exposed to the virus by these positive individuals. Think about that. The Trump Administration ignored the White House’s own COVID guidelines so that the Rose Garden event became a super-spreader situation.
I could go on and on. The point is that whatever your political views, it’s time to unite behind Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because we must vote Trump out of the White House. We also need to vote a Democratic majority to both Chambers of Congress in order to start trying to repair the damage being done to this country by Trump and numerous other DC Republicans.
The United States cannot afford 4 more years of Donald Trump.

Firing The State Department Inspector General Goes Against Our Democratic Values In My Opinion

5-16-20
I am deeply disturbed by the Trump Administration’s firing of the State Department’s Inspector General, Steve Linick. I think this is another example of Trump trying to surround himself with people who will only follow him and not raise questions or push back. This is yet another in a series of actions that undermines the vital principal of checks and balances in American democracy.
It is well known that Trump seems to favor foreign leaders who are authoritarian and diminish democratic values in their own countries. Look at Vladimir Putin of Russia.
We have seen a whole string of Administration officials forced out of their positions. A number of these were individuals who appear to have been willing to question or stand up to Trump, and that is something Trump clearly does not like. So, the officials were pushed out and replaced with individuals the Administration hoped would be more likely to bow to Trump’s will without raising questions.
This undermines good leadership and democracy itself. An effective leader should seek out and listen to different points of view as well as be willing to accept other people’s ideas.
In addition, oversight is vital to maintaining appropriate checks and balances in a democratic government. This is to ensure that an individual or branch does not exceed their power and threaten our democratic values.
Removing Linick, who was from I have read was doing his job in providing proper oversight, is yet another example of the Trump Administration’s dangerous trend of trying to avoid and even quash dissent in government as much as they can get away with. It goes against the core principal of democracy and good leadership.

Let’s Have A Respectful, Healthy Primary Process And Then Unite Behind The Democratic Presidential Candidate!

Well, Super Tuesday is here. A big day for the Democratic presidential primaries. Let’s be sure that whatever happens, we have good healthy discussions and debates and then remember to unite behind whoever wins the Democratic presidential nomination.
This last point is vitally important.
We must unite behind whoever wins the Democratic presidential nomination because Donald Trump is one of the worst presidents the United States has ever had (the list of why this is the case is quite extensive).  A major reason why Trump won in 2016 was that anti-Trump voters were terribly divided and often vicious towards each other. Too many didn’t vote in the general election or voted for a third party candidate who had zero chance of winning.
We cannot afford the same mistakes this time!
   Too much is at stake!
So let’s have a respectful, healthy primary process and then unite behind whoever wins the Democratic presidential nomination.
Because we cannot afford 4 more years of Donald Trump!

I Think Would Have Been Wiser For Pelosi To Take The High Road At The SOTU

I think Donald Trump is one of the worst, most corrupt presidents in American history. I also believe he is potentially one of the most dangerous with his penchant for telling falsehoods, apparent instability, attacks on the free press, and the way he seems to like authoritarianism. Considering the power he is wielding over the Republican Party and that he has access to the nuclear codes…well these are scary times.

That said, I do believe our Democracy will survive. Hopefully the American people will vote Trump out of the White House and also vote a Democratic majority into Congress so that we can start trying to repair the damage which has been done.

I can certainly appreciate the emotions Pelosi must have been feeling at the State of the Union address. On top of the everything else going on, Trump clearly refused to shake her hand when she offered (and is tradition at the SOTU). His address included numerous exaggerations and falsehoods in addition to unnecessary jabs at Democrats considering this was the State of the Union address and not a political rally.

But tearing up the SOTU copy she had been given in many ways lowered herself to Donald Trump’s level. I think it would have been better for her to take the high road.

Be the adult in the room, so to speak.

Be the cool, calm, determined, thoughtful leader that millions of Americans are yearning for but are clearly not finding from Donald Trump.

There are turbulent times ahead.

Let’s unite behind whoever wins the Democratic Presidential nomination and vote Trump out of office. We need to vote in a Democratic majority into Congress as well.

Together, we can get the United States back on a better course.

People Must Register To Vote And Actually Vote To Defeat Trump and Other Republicans

The Democratic Iowa Caucus appears to have had a lot of confusion as well as a disappointing turn out. Folks, too much is at stake! Trump and the Republicans in Washington are frankly scary.

The national deficit is worsening dramatically.

Russia is not being held accountable for its ongoing cyber assaults on our country and other nations.

Trump interfered with the Mueller Investigation as well as the Impeachment Inquiry and Trial. If a Democratic President did this, I bet the Republicans would have decisively impeached and convicted them.

The Trump Administration abandoned our Kurdish allies, a move which greatly enhanced Russia’s power in the region and ensured that nations around the world will no longer trust the United States like they once did. This latter state of affairs is exacerbated by the way Trump insults, undermines, and injures our long term allies.

Trump’s actions with regards to Iran has increased the likelihood that that nation will develop nuclear weapons. If Iran does, Saudi Arabia will follow suit since they are adversaries. Then two extremist governments will be nuclear powers. The risk of a terror organization getting a nuclear device will go up. And make no mistake: if a terror group obtains one, they will use it.

Donald Trump lies on a scale we haven’t seen in a modern president and then viciously assaults the legitimate free press when they rightly call him out on it. The free press, which Trump clearly disrespects and does not like, is a vital component to American Democracy. Trump’s attacking such an important part of our freedom as “fake” is exceedingly dangerous and frighteningly reminiscent of authoritarian rulers around the world and throughout history.

The Republicans in Congress have shown themselves to be pathetically and dangerously weak enablers of Donald Trump and his terrible behavior. They won’t hold him accountable when they clearly should and have failed their oaths of office by refusing to subpoena witnesses and documents in the Impeachment Proceedings. If a jury in any other trial behaved as the Senate Republicans have, a mistrial would have been declared.

Trump and the Republicans are desperately trying to pack the Supreme Court with hard core conservatives who could jeopardize the rights of millions of Americans. LGBTQ rights in particular could be in serious danger if Ruth Bader Ginsberg is replaced by an extremist social conservative.

Clearly, the upcoming election is one of the most important events in US history.

Too much is at stake to stay out of it.

So, get involved!

Speak up! Register to vote!

And VOTE!

Remember, particularly in the Presidential election, we must unite behind whoever wins the Democratic Presidential nomination. Voting for a 3rd party candidate is helping Donald Trump.

So whoever the Democratic Presidential candidate turns out to be, suck it up and vote for them!

Too much is at stake not to!

And by the way, I’m an Independent.
