Too Many People Are Hurting Due To A Lack Of Acceptance From Much Of Society.

Hey there folks. I’d like to talk about something that’s very important which many people don’t realize. The fact is that there are a great number of LGBTQ people who are hurting, isolated, and alone because too many members of the Straight and Gay / Lesbian Communities don’t fully accept us. And this needs to change. It’s the 21st century for crying out loud.
Who am I talking about you may wonder. It’s actually a lot more people than you may think. Bisexual+, Genderfluid, Genderqueer, Nonbinary, Transgender, Asexual, and others (NTBA+ for short) often feel like we’re not fully accepted by most of society so that far too often, we end up very isolated and alone.
Many people fear, and even ostracize, individuals whom they see as too different. Often, they assume the worst. That somehow we must be confused and untrustworthy. Or that we’re just plain too weird. The result is that they don’t fully accept us.
The consequences are that too many NTBA+ people end up feeling like we don’t belong anywhere and that people don’t want us. It makes finding true friends incredibly difficult and often dating becomes virtually impossible, despite the fact that we can be just as faithful and monogamous as anyone else and that we want love too. Unfortunately, too many of us are having to face the brutal reality that we are probably going to be alone for the rest of our lives.
   Things need to change.
The Straight and Gay / Lesbian Communities as a whole need to open their minds and their hearts. NTBA+ people deserve acceptance and a chance. Don’t automatically reject us because of who we are. Try to open your minds and get to know us. We also enjoy the same interests and activities that you do, whether it’s movies, TV shows, and art or good food, travel, and the outdoors. Plus, diversity should be celebrated, not feared.
   We are people too.
   We have hopes and dreams.
We want to have happy productive lives like everyone else.
All we are asking for is a chance.
If everyone strove to be kind, considerate, tolerant, open-minded, and accepting, imagine how wonderful and magical the world could be for everyone.

Prejudice Arises For A Plethora Of Reasons, And Everyone Should Be Aware And Battle It

   Where does prejudice come from?
An age old question, don’t you think.
I’d say it often arises from a lack of understanding, stereotyping, jumping to conclusions, fear of something different, insecurities about one’s self…
   Am I getting warm?
It is frequently taught, picked up, learned, and absorbed.
A whole variety of influences can contribute to the formation of intolerant, prejudiced attitudes like that from parents, siblings, cousins, and other relatives as well as that from friends, schoolmates, co-workers, political leaders, religious figures, and so on.
Prejudices can be blunt or be quite subtle and easy to miss. Many people harbor them without fully recognizing that some of the ideas they are clinging to really are intolerant. And other times, it’s more that they don’t want to admit it. But either way, the prejudices are there, lurking.
Everyone should take a good, honest, hard look at themselves from time to time to see if they are harboring prejudiced feelings and attitudes. Find ways to make improvements and learn to better open their hearts and minds.
For doing so will improve not just other people’s lives, but also their own.

People These Days Need To Open Their Minds And Broaden Their Horizons!

Remember folks, think independently, whomever you are and whatever your background.

Don’t blindly follow anyone because frankly, there’s been a lot of that going around these days.

Get information from a variety of independent, reputable sources because while there is a lot of good information out there, there’s a lot of bad information out there too, especially when it comes to Social Media.

Double check things. Triple check them! And don’t just follow sites that will tell you what you want to hear. Seek out diverse, varied sources. Explore different points of view. Too many people listen only to one leader or get information from the same source over and over. In addition, too much of the population only interact with others who agree with them, and as a result of all this, they become too isolated from other ideas and points of view. This is a problem in politics, social issues, religion, etc.

Think for yourself!

Open your mind and broaden your horizons!

Strive to be an independent, renaissance person.

I think you’ll find the world is a much more fascinating place and life an amazing experience if you do.

Thoughts For The Holidays

During the Holidays, many people talk about love, friendship, family, forgiveness, and the like.
But what about the rest of the year?
Kindness, caring, understanding, acceptance, tolerance, open-mindedness are concepts which we should all be striving for throughout the year.
Not just during the Holidays.
We should try to learn about and from one another. Let go of prejudices and be supportive instead.
Live and let live.
Remembering that love is love and hate should not enter into it.
Imagine the world if more did this.
Each and every one of us needs to look at ourself and work to make improvements and strive to be better, kinder, more open minded human beings.
