The Middle East Crisis Seems To Reveal How Many People Are Blind Followers

I’m disturbed how so many people seem to automatically think Trump’s actions in the Middle East are ok without giving real evidence as to why they feel that way. It’s like they immediately believe Trump, no matter what he says or does, and won’t question him.  His policies have led to Iran leaving the Nuclear Deal (they will likely reinitiate their nuclear weapons program), ensured that Iran will retaliate (further endangering American lives), has led to Iraq threatening to kick the US out of its country (this would create a vacuum into which Iran would undoubtedly step in), and will likely help the extremist leadership in Iran further consolidate its power (suppressing moderates there even more).
Folks, please let go of partisan politics.
Imagine if you didn’t know the party Trump belonged to. Think about how you’d feel if this was a Democratic president. What would you be saying then?
   Hmm?
Too many people (whatever their politics) blindly follow political leaders, even when the leader is blatantly spreading false information and is in the wrong.
Whether you are on the left, on the right, or a mixture: STOP IT!
   Don’t blindly follow anyone!
   Think for yourself!
Don’t just use extremist sites that will tell you what you want to hear. Get information from varied, independent sources.
USA Today, CNN, the Washington Post, the Associated Press, Reuters, the BBC, and many more are good examples of news sites you can use to get information. And explore more than one source. Check out multiple sites to get most accurate picture possible about what is going on.
   Open your minds!
Be independent thinkers who are willing to speak up against politicians, even if you voted for them.
History is full of the dangers of blindly following leaders.
The United States should be better than that!

Trump Has Embarrassed The US And Worsened The Middle East Situation

In my opinion, the Trump Administration’s actions in the Middle East (leaving the Iran Nuclear Deal, killing Soleimani, and abandoning our Kurdish allies) have increased the likelihood that Iran will become a nuclear power and strengthened Iran’s position in the Middle East.
The extremist leadership will be able to better consolidate its power within Iran and expand more influence into the surrounding region as more Middle Eastern countries and factions lose faith in the United States and turn on us. Iraq is already threatening to kick the US out of their country. If that happens, Iran will further increase it’s power in that nation.
Iran has announced it is leaving the Nuclear Deal and will be free to reinitiate uranium enrichment. This means they could soon be well on their way to becoming a nuclear power.
The United States needed cool, calm heads in the White House in dealing with the Middle Eastern situation. Instead, Donald Trump has inflamed an already troubled region and has increased the danger facing Americans and our allies (for Iran will retaliate after Soleimani’s killing). Now Trump has stooped so low as to threaten to bomb Iranian cultural sites, an act which would be sickeningly despicable and go against international law.
In my opinion, this is that much more evidence in how unsuitable Donald Trump is in the office of President of the United States.
We need to vote Trump out of office. In the meantime, we must speak out and put pressure on our elected officials to stand up to Trump to attempt to minimize the damage his actions are creating.
And to those who have been supporting Trump, please speak out against him when he does such disgraceful things. There are times when partisan politics should be laid aside.

I Suspect Taking Out Soleimani May Worsen Situation In Middle East

Let’s be clear about something. General Soleimani and Iran are not innocents here. Iran has been supporting terror groups for decades, and Soleimani has been a leader in that effort for years.
As commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Soleimani has been a key figure in working with paramilitary, militia, and terror groups in the Middle East. He has been involved with the Syrian/Iraqi conflicts and is responsible for the deaths of many people including American and Allied personnel. To be blunt, Soleimani has a lot of blood on his hands.
The United States has been monitoring him for years. Presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama apparently considered taking him out but decided against it due to the risk of inciting war with Iran.
Thing is, just because a person or place in a conflict may be a legitimate target, doesn’t mean actually taking them out is wise.
Being a high ranking Iranian General complicates the situation which is why previous presidents monitored Soleimani but did not try to remove him.
Trump’s doing so now has escalated already strained relations with Iran. The fact that Trump had already removed the US from the Iran Nuclear deal makes the situation even more precarious.
While the nuclear deal was not perfect to say the least, I do think it was the best option to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Now that America has taken out Soleimani, I suspect Iran will likely reinitialize it’s nuclear weapons program.
I fear that the Trump Administration’s actions with regards to Iran the last couple of years has increased the likelihood that Iran will become a nuclear power (a scary proposition).
I can’t help but wonder: why take out Soleimani now? Is it a coincidence that Trump ordered the attack with the Senate Impeachment Trial looming? Maybe, maybe not.
Even if it is a coincidence, I am concerned that the attack on Soleimani will likely worsen the situation with Iran (and the Middle East in general), not improve it.
