The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) currently estimates that 35% of people with active COVID 19 infections are asymptomatic, meaning they show no clinical signs. And the thing is, these asymptomatic cases can still be shedding the virus, particularly when they cough, sneeze, breath heavily, and even talk loudly.
That is why it is vitally important for everyone to wear a mask in public when adequate social distancing is not possible! As people get out more (with states reopening economies), this is even more essential! Because this pandemic is far from over folks! It will probably be next year before an effective vaccine is available for everyone. Future waves of infection are coming, and if people don’t wear masks, these waves will come sooner and be much worse than they would have been otherwise.
Wearing a mask helps decrease the chances of you spreading the virus to other people. An individual can be feeling great but still be shedding the virus without even knowing it.
So please, be responsible!
Wear a mask in public when social distancing is not possible.
When in doubt, wear a damn mask!
It really is that important!
