Well, it looks like Britain may actually leave the European Union.
In my opinion, this is a big mistake.
I suspect Britain will find itself more isolated economically and diplomatically.
Scotland may finally secede and join the EU itself. If that happens, American businesses may decide to do business in Scotland instead of Britain because they would deal with customs duties one time and have the entire EU open to them.
The troubles in Ireland may respark if a hard border is re-established between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. If a hard border is not established there, Northern Ireland may grow closer to the Republic of Ireland and further from Britain.
I think Britain will regret leaving the EU.
